My Practice

A Local Attorney Who Understands

Attorney Headshot

Erica M. Scott, Esq.

Lead Attorney

I started my solo practice, the Law Office of E.M. Scott, to bring my 11 years’ experience in Social Security Disability to the Bakersfield area to help my community. No matter their gender identity, orientation, race, religion, or education, it is important to me that my clients are treated with care and given honest answers and advice.

The Social Security Disability process can be confusing and overwhelming. People often mix up the benefits provided by local, State, and Federal governments, but I can often help people figure out a smart course of action to reduce periods of homelessness or hunger. No one should go hungry or be unsafe or unsheltered because a mental or physical disability prevents them working.

The most gratifying aspect of my practice is seeing my clients flourish after getting their benefits; seeing the kind of lifechanging effect that stable housing, food, and medical care can make in people's lives.
